The first International Prosciutto Fair in Montenegro – MESAP 2022 was organised at Dvorski square in Cetinje on 14 and 15 July, with the financial support of partners, including the European Union in Montenegro. Seventeen exhibitors from Montenegro, countries of the region and abroad presented their products, giving visitors the opportunity to enjoy a free tasting of cured meat delicacies.

By cutting the first slice of prosciutto, the Fair was officially opened by mayor Nikola Đurašković, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management Budimir Mugoša, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development and Tourism Damir Davidović, the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro Nina Drakić, the President of the Montenegrin prosciutto cluster Jovan Kaluđerović, and our colleague Mirko Bošković, who was the fastest in this activity and won a prize.

Aside from the promotion of prosciutto, the organisers had prize games for visitors, a selection of the most beautifully decorated stand, and a concert with the popular regional stars Jelena Tomašević and Kaliopa. Additionally,, the musician from Cetinje Luka Radović and the band Crveno i crno performed, as well.

The fair also had an educational character. Excellent professors and lecturers,  the Director of the Cluster of Croatian Prosciutto Ante Madir, and the Professor from the University of Novi Sad Vladimir Tomović introduced those interested in the process of the production of prosciutto, the method of preparation, and a series of other useful information.

Aside from the European Union in Montenegro, the first International Prosciutto Fair in Montenegro MESAP 2022 was also supported by the Montenegrin Prosciutto Cluster, the Tourism Organisation Prijestonica Cetinje, the Old Royal Capital Cetinje, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management, the Ministry of Economic Development and of Tourism, the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, and the company Mtel Imate Prijatelje.
