Gira, il mondo gira nello spazio senza fine con gli amori appena nati,

sang Jimmy Fontana, as we sang along

An engaging and emotional spectacle and a musical journey through ecology, this is how one could describe the event organised by the Embassy of Italy marking the 23rd edition of the World Week of Italian Language (16-22 October) at Europe House. The event was organised in collaboration with the students of the “Slobodan Škerović” High School and the “Andre Navarra” Music School in Podgorica.

Through poetry and musical notes, the youngsters conveyed messages of love for nature and the green world around us.

Yet, the wind still blows” is the slogan of this year’s event, conveying the following message:

Ecological activism through music emerged in the 1960s, a historical era in which music was a means of expressing vulnerability and insecurity, in which an idea was born─the idea that singing can raise interest in topics such as pollution, deforestation, and global warming.
