Montenegro has received another aid shipment of protective medical equipment, which contains 100,000 gloves, 1,680 liters of hand sanitizers, 720 bedding sets (single use) and 1,800 towels. The donation was provided by Austria through the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism.
Minister of internal affairs, Mevludin Nuhodžić, has stated that the Federal Republic of Austria’s donation of medical equipment serves as a testimony of understanding, solidarity and friendship between Austria and Montenegro.
“This aid package was provided within the framework of the European Union Mechanism for Civil Protection, of which Montenegro is a credible member and reliable partner. The donation of medical equipment will further improve our response to COVID-19 and I would like to extend my most sincere thanks to the Government of the Republic of Austria, and especially the Federal Minister of the Interior Karl Nehammer,” Nuhodžić said.
Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Montenegro Ana Janković said that Austria offered to send medical equipment aid shipments to countries of the region through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. She appreciates the support and efforts that the Government of Montenegro invested in making arrangements to fly Austrian citizens back home, as they happened to be in Montenegro when the crisis emerged.
