Bulgaria donated 200 sets of protective medical equipment to Montenegro to fight the coronavirus epidemic. The Bulgarian Ambassador to Montenegro Meglena Plugchieva-Alexandrova pointed out that Bulgaria, as an EU member, is working hard on the European integration of the Western Balkans, and that this policy has always been a priority in the country’s foreign policy. She added that this support is part of Bulgaria’s contribution to the initiative “Team Europe” to support the EU’s partner countries in the Western Balkans, in the fight against the COVID-19 virus pandemic and the consequences of the crisis.
“As an expression of solidarity between Bulgaria and the EU in the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic – and as was the motto of the Bulgarian EU presidency, “United we stand strong” – Bulgaria donated protective equipment to Montenegro,” the Ambassador said.
The Director General of the Directorate for Emergency Situations in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Mirsad Mulić, thanked the Government of Bulgaria for this donation and pointed out that it represents a confirmation of good bilateral relations between Montenegro and Bulgaria.
“Bulgaria’s donation comes today, at a time when we are at the end of the fight against the coronavirus, but it is certainly valuable and important for the health system of Montenegro. In recent months, we have shown that togetherness and solidarity are the fundamental values of our cooperation,” Mulic emphasised.
