Access negotiations between Montenegro and the European Union may seem complicated and unclear to ordinary citizens. Various chapters, benchmarks, legal acquis, negotiating groups and numerous reports are only part of this important but often incomprehensible process.
Europe House, the Delegation of the European Union in Montenegro with the support of the NGO Multimedial Montenegro, and the EU Corner in Bijelo Polje presented the negotiations with the EU at the Bijelo Polje city centre in a completely different and unusual way – through the exhibition of artworks “European Inspirations – The negotiation process through the eyes of artists,” which was created by the former and current students of the Faculty of Design and Multimedia, University of Donja Gorica.
The works were created as a result of visual facilitation, that is, the translation of words into images. The students first attended lectures where representatives from the Office for European Integration under the Government of Montenegro presented the results of the negotiations.
The local organisers from Bijelo Polje were the NGO Multimedial Montenegro (MMNE) and the EU Corner, said Zeljko Djukic, President of the NGO MMNE, adding that he is glad that the accession negotiations process has been talked about a lot more recently in the north of Montenegro, precisely thanks to such projects.
Djukic added that he was glad that the sunny autumn day in Bijelo Polje was additionally beautified by the bright and creative works of young artists from Montenegro. It is particularly interesting that the inspiration for the works was the negotiation process, and in many of the works you can also see excellent messages that are creatively illustrated, Djukic concluded.
After Bijelo Polje, the “European Inspirations” exhibition will continue its journey throughout Montenegro.
