The first edition of the European Pub Quiz concluded successfully last night in Podgorica. 39 teams competed for the title of the most knowledgeable. The topic of the quiz was the EU and its Member States. The European Pub Quiz was organised by the Ministry of European Affairs and the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro through EU4ME and Europe House projects in collaboration with quiz author Zoran Miljanić.
The first place went to the team “K.K. Slakaši“, consisting of Haris Divanović, Stevan Kandić, Danilo Backović, Ivan Stojanović, and Radovan Ognjenović. They won a voucher worth 300 euros for purchasing electronic devices.
EUnkvizitori secured second place, earning a board game, while “Dežurni krivci” came in third and won cinema vouchers.
“The best part was that we all had fun learning about the EU—probably more than we expected! It was great to see European topics presented in such an entertaining way, making the whole experience even more engaging,” said Stevan Kandić, a winning team member.
The European Pub Quiz covered various topics, including European culture, art, history, and sport.
The idea behind this quiz was to showcase the European Union and its values in a fun and interactive way, creating a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. It gave people a chance to test their knowledge and learn something new about the EU,” said the Ministry of European Affairs representatives.
39 teams, featuring over 100 participants, competed across seven rounds, and the organisers were thrilled with the turnout and enthusiasm among the participants.
“The EU isn’t just about negotiations and meeting requirements—it’s also about shared values and diversity, which make it such a unique community. The great interest in this event shows that this type of quiz has the potential to become a tradition,” said Europe House representatives.
In addition to the top-ranking teams, prizes were awarded to teams Batler Džimi, Euro Neuro, Plan C, and Bistrice through a random draw. The European Pub Quiz demonstrated that education and entertainment can go hand in hand, making this format a great candidate for regular inclusion in future events by the Ministry of European Affairs and the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro.
