Accursed mountains – exquisite outdoor destination

Outdoor tourism represents an important aspect of sustainable tourism in any country. This project seeks to support further development of the “Bjeshkët e Nemuna/Prokletije” cross-border area as an outdoor tourism destination. It will improve tourism infrastructure and increase the visibility of the area, which is abundant in biodiversity and geological diversity.

This project will also boost promotional activities aimed at presenting Bjeshkët e Nemuna/Prokletije as a single tourist destination with a unique network of trails and unique branding. The project envisages the development of hiking and cycling trails for a total length of 300 km, installation of 10 bicycle racks, as well as setting up 30 viewpoints, 50 rest areas and 50 water outlets. In addition, the project envisages setting up theme trails and climbing platforms for connecting important paths on both sides. This will help enhance the offer of the cross-border area as an attractive outdoor tourism destination.
