Better working through networking

Organisations of persons with disabilities have a very important role in advocating for the rights of persons with disabilities (PWDs) and integrating persons with disabilities into mainstream society. It is therefore important to include them in policy development at both local and national levels.

This project aims to contribute to greater involvement of organisations of persons with disabilities and PWDs in the development and implementation of policies in the area of disability at the national level. This is of great importance for further improvement of the quality of life and status of persons with disabilities in Montenegro.

The project resulted in the establishment of a functional network of organisations of persons with disabilities for advocacy for the rights of PWDs, as well as a mechanism for monitoring the Strategy for the Protection of Persons with Disabilities from Discrimination and the Promotion of Equality.

Also, the project raised public awareness of the importance of involving PWDs in decision-making processes in Montenegro.
