Lake Skadar withOut chemicaL pollUTION – SOLUTION

Montenegro and Albania share common water resources that are vital for sustainable development, environmental protection, economy, tourism and culture in both countries. Cross-border cooperation is essential when it comes to these aspects, especially in the area of Lake Skadar.

This project will identify pollution hotspots in Lake Skadar and provide an assessment of chemicals present in the water ecosystem. It aims to provide support to joint and coordinated research on hazardous chemical substances in the cross-border area of Lake Skadar, as well as to joint measures on either side of the border.

The project is expected to strengthen the professional and technical capacities of partner institutions and enhance their cooperation. Also, it will raise public awareness about chemical pollution in Lake Skadar and the importance of addressing and resolving this issue.
