Supporting entrepreneurship through advisory services and information services for SMEs

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) contribute to value creation and provide new employment opportunities, which leads to an increase in the overall standard of living. In other words, they have a key role in the economic development of each country. Montenegro is no exception. SMEs play a fundamental role in fostering a sustainable and resilient economy in Montenegro.

This project supports entrepreneurship through advisory and information services for SMEs. It has two components. The first one is related to providing advisory support for SMEs to enhance competitiveness and improve their productivity in a wide range of business areas, including digitalisation and digital transformation, financial management, environmental protection, etc.

The second component is related to the establishment of a single access point (SAP) for SMEs in Montenegro and strengthening the capacities of the Ministry of Economic Development to better serve SMEs through policy development and enhancing SME support programmes. It also aims to set up a digital one-stop shop web portal that will provide all relevant information to SMEs and enable them to apply for incentives online. The implementation of this component takes place through two contracts: “Institutional capacity building of the Ministry of Economic Development” and “The development of a SAP web portal for SMEs”.

This project runs until December 2023.
