The Hoo project: Creation of owl and other wildlife experiences

Wildlife tourism is an important part of the global tourism industry. It can also have a positive effect on the protection of endangered species and help wildlife conservation.

This project aims to encourage natural heritage-based wildlife tourism in the cross-border area of Montenegro and Serbia. It has 3 specific objectives:

  • Develop wildlife-based tourism products by making small-scale investments and creating wildlife itineraries;
  • Provide training for wildlife-based tourism products;
  • To commercialise wildlife-based tourism products by implementing effective marketing activities.

The project is expected to result in a well-developed and commercialised wildlife tourism offer and trained tourism providers who are knowledgeable about wildlife tourism. The project will help map, market and digitialise 50 km of wildlife trails and install light wildlife infrastructure. In addition, it will support the development of tourist itineraries in the cross-border area.
