A more resilient Danilovgrad with EU support

Through this EU financed project, Danilovgrad received a new modern fire station, an all-terrain vehicle, boats and other valuable equipment.
This project will enable faster interventions in critical situations for citizens, better quality work of the emergency response team for the local administration, and much better conditions for the Protection and Rescue Service, while the State of Montenegro received a new training centre for dealing with floods and landslides.
“This project will continue through some new activities. We have a new RESCOMM project, financed by the European Union, through which equipment has already been purchased, and the adaptation of the roof area is also planned,” emphasized the deputy commander of the Protection and Rescue Service, Đuro Pavićević.
The fire station was recently visited by the EU Ambassador to Montenegro Oana Cristina Popa.
“I believe that this project is another good example of how EU money can be put to good use – in this case, for building the local community’s resilience to natural hazards,” said Ambassador Popa on that occasion.
The fire station will ensure an efficient response in the most difficult situations, save human lives and preserve material assets. The facility has about 600 square meters, a garage, a warehouse, and a training room. The FLAT project was financed by the EU with close to a million euros through the INTERREG IPA CBC Italy-Albania-Montenegro programme.
