Cultural heritage tourism offers an opportunity for people to experience authentic activities, artifacts, food, clothing and music. It provides tourists with unforgettable, unique experiences and has a positive economic impact on society.
This project aims to improve the scope, quality and visibility of the tourism offer that is linked to the valorisation of the rich cultural heritage and values of both Kosovo* and Montenegro. More specifically, it aims to enhance the cultural tourism offer of the Bjeshkët e Nemuna/Prokletije cross-border region by establishing new thematic routes and trails. The project will also develop the capacities of people from rural areas to provide tourism services.
Additionally, the project will promote the so-called “strong” attractions (mountain tourism, nature values and biodiversity) through the valorisation of cultural and natural resources and the so-called “soft” attractions (history, events, traditional fairs and traditional artisans) through capacity building, as well as overall social and economic development through cultural tourism. In other words, it will help analyse and map cultural and natural heritage of the targeted area and support its economic growth.
