New social protection services for an improved quality of life

Providing social protection is of paramount importance for reducing poverty and inequality, strengthening social stability, as well as for achieving social justice. It is therefore important to foster social inclusion and continuously develop quality social protection programmes.

This project aimed to support the social and child protection system in Montenegro by strengthening cooperation among day care centres in Nikšić and Bijelo Polje, as well as by improving social inclusion and quality of life for children and youth with disabilities through the introduction of new services in these day care centres.

Furthermore, the project helped purchase equipment and organise training courses on assistive technology for professionals from day care centres in Nikšić and Bijelo Polje. It also supported the introduction of hydrotherapy and supported the construction of a hydromassage pool for children and youth with disabilities within the Tisa Day Care Centre in Bijelo Polje. The new services introduced in day care centers in Nikšić and Bijelo Polje also include the organisation of arts camps and exhibitions.

In short, this project contributed to raising awareness about the specific needs of children and youth with disabilities and improving their life in the targeted municipalities.
