The European Union Delegation to Montenegro and the EU Info Centre are announcing a competition for the best photograph on the topic of cultural heritage. The contest, titled “Our Culture– European Heritage” is being organised to mark May 9, Europe Day.

The European Union declared 2018 the year of cultural heritage. The aim of the European Year of Cultural Heritage is to encourage more people to discover and engage with Europe’s cultural heritage, and to reinforce a sense of belonging to a common European area. The slogan for the year is: Our heritage: where the past meets the future.

We invite all lovers of photography to join in Europe Day celebrations by participating in the competition. We hope that the diverse and rich Montenegrin cultural heritage will provide the inspiration to participate in the competition.

Rules of the contest:

The competition is open to university and high school students. Each participant can send only one photograph. Participants need to publish a photo on their FB profile using#EuropeForCulture and to tag the FB profiles of the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro and the EU Info Centre, and also send them to the e-mail address: media@evropskakuca.me, with the subject line “Our Cultural Heritage – European Heritage” and provide the following information: name, telephone number, a link to the published photograph and a description of what is in the photograph.

By participating in the competition, the participants guarantee:

  1. That the photograph is their original work; and
  2. That all the information is correct.

The competition is open until 20 April 2018.

An expert jury will decide on the received entries on the basis of their technical and aesthetic value, the originality and creativity of the authors, as well as their relevance to the topic.

A special award will be given to the author of the photograph with the most interactions (likes and shares) on social networks.

The final results of the competition will be announced on 30 April 2018.

The best entry will win a camera and other valuable prizes.

The shortlisted photos will form part of an exhibition on cultural heritage that will be organised at the EU Info Centre during the Europe Day celebration.

Those entries that do not fit the criteria or are received after the deadline will not be considered for an award.
